From: Jill Dygert (

We would be very appreciative if you could share this information with the women of your congregation. Thank you in advance!

Black women in Marion County who are pregnant or have had a baby in the last five years are invited to participate in a focus group. Focus group participants will be asked to share their experiences about being pregnant and the care they received during and after their pregnancies. Participants can choose from one of three focus groups in December and earn $20 for participation.

Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Reddick Public Library, 15150 NW Gainesville Road, Reddick, FL 32686
Saturday, Dec. 10, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Marion Oak Library, 294 Marion Oaks Lane, Ocala, FL 34473
Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Parkside Gardens Apartments, 621 NW 2nd Street, Ocala, FL 34475

Results from the focus groups will contribute to the statewide initiative Florida’s Healthy Babies that aims to positively influence social determinants and reduce racial disparity in infant mortality.

The focus groups are being conducted by WellFlorida Council for the Department of Health in Marion County. For more information, please visit or call 352-727-3765.
